A Jimmy Chicken, a Keeeeeenwwaaaa, A baker and a whole lot of love
It's been an amazing week so far and it's not over yet. My friends take birthdays to the next level, each one bringing with It a new chance not only to get together and ;laugh but also to share a meal and memories.
If you've ever met my friend J ( which most people have) you'd know that he does nothing at half measure. And what a great time was had!!
The PLAN - we all get together and everyone brings a dish and the drink of your choice ( we don't judge nobody for what you choose to drink).
So I made lasagne- one of my favorite dishes to make especially when it's cold, I also love to add as many vegetables as I can making it rustic and tasty with loads of cheese!!( yum yum)
What we sat down to the other night was a buffet filled with delicious food, filled with love and happiness.
From tender chickens enveloped in Jimmy sauce to biryani. Butter chicken was the one you had to fight for ( I didn't get any- I wasn't quick enough). Two dishes of potato bake , seafood platter( I'm getting full just thinking about it again) all made for a delicious spread. And not forgetting the quinoa salad with the beauties of baby shrimps inside.
Dessert came in the form of a traditional South African treat- MALVA pudding with custard. If you're South African you know how much this is loved especially when you're far away from home.( see the video attached for you foodies who love to try new things)
Like I said before J does nothing half measure so his cake had to be something that exuded his personality and what we surprised him with was just that- you can judge for yourself!!
