In my next life I'd like to be a superhero with the ability to obtain 20 Michelin stars
There's no doubt that the Culinary world is a hardcore ruthless one which requires lots of stamina, endurance and mostly passion, sounds kind of like a horse race of sorts without all the glamorous outfits and people.
I was very naïve when I first got introduced to the Culinary World thinking that it was easy to create amazing dishes and make people happy with what you put on a plate but it's not at all.
You soon learn that there are 2 kinds of chefs in this world, there are the ones who are naturally talented , who cook with effortless ease and produce amazing results. Then there are the ones who have to put that extra effort in who have to push a little harder to achieve that goal of near perfection but in all this the quest is the same- to become the best CHEF that you can be.
Working with many different chefs with varying personalities over the years has taught me that you have to have balance, where you're somewhat of a dragon at times and then at other times you're a kitten . Life is all about balance in the right doses .
My life has given me the ability to meet lots of different people and understand what it requires to be the best kind of superhero you can be, you need to be tough at times but mostly nurturing and supportive.
Some of the world's best chefs have the most humble spirits and use their knowledge for the benefit of others not taking all their ideas and recipes with them forever. We are all destined for greatness in some way or the other and life will throw some obstacles along the way. The true test is how you handle them.
And so I thought it was time for me to share a little bit about myself, I've been a part of the Culinary world for about 12 years having started my career at a beachside Asian Fusion Restaurant. I loved it, The weather, the atmosphere, even the smelly fish , it was an exhilarating time.
But I knew that my journey would take me to places outside of my country and off to Dubai I went to experience my first taste of an international experience and I was hooked. A year later and I ended up in Bahrain where I would have the opportunity to work for 3 prestigious hotel brands.
Life may take you to different corners of the world, but it's truly what you make of it.
Whether you end up being a Michelin star chef on TV or in your home it's all about the passion and the love for food.
Have an amazing week my foodie friends!!!
