Pumpkin spiced, toffee nut, caramel macchiato, wet please !! with skim milk
It seems like my blogs have been partial to the delightful world of food. Yet, what we consume as a beverage plays just as vital a role .
The first thing the waiter/ waitress asks you when you sit down is " What would you like to drink"
And then your mind starts racing about what to eat, will they go well together, what if I make a mistake. All these factors go into something as simple as choosing A DRINK!!!
When I moved to the Middle East I was incredibly fascinated, as I usually am by the array of new places to eat, places I had only seen in movies or on the internet.
My personal favorite has got to be Starbucks!!
I don't even like coffee that much so for me to like Starbucks is quite a big thing.
It starts with the smell as you walk in, a combination of freshly brewed coffee mixed with the inviting smell of cakes and cookies. Then it's the service that you get, their employees always seem to be so friendly, must be the excessive amounts of coffee I guess.
Every year I look forward to November and December because they'll start with the Pumpkin Spiced Latte in November ( no pumpkin by the way but the cinnamon flavor Is there) and by December the red cups and toffee nut latte's have rolled in.
I call it CHRISTMAS IN A CUP!! That feeling you used to get when you were younger and you knew you were going to get something special, that's the feeling I get .
My favorite throughout the year has got to be the Caramel Macchiato, for someone who doesn't like coffee too much it can be subtle and so comforting, in a world full of chaos, they never disappoint to deliver.
So beverages are in most cases just as important as food, the correct wine with the correct dish, who would eat chardonnay with a steak right??
And wine pairings with cheese, I learnt last year the significance of being able to do a good wine/ cheese pairing, its like magic on your palate.
In life there is time to appreciate all things whether it be a delicious milkshake with choc chips inside or a delicate bottle of French champagne , we all love what we love.
Take care and have a wonderful week my foodie friends!!!
